The history of Dunnellon Presbyterian Church is a collection of stories ranging from the stories of the turn of the century “Boomtown Days” of phosphate mining and the timber industry, to the stories of restoring a sanctuary dedicated in 1895 that literally almost toppled over due the weight of the sagging bell tower 100 years later. It is a compilation of stories reflecting hopes and dreams, as well as disappointments and nightmares. The history of Dunnellon Presbyterian Church is one of times of great bounty, and decades of struggling to keep the doors open. It is about stories of maintaining a distinctly Presbyterian presence in a small Florida town whose fortunes have also waxed and waned. Most of all though, the history of Dunnellon Presbyterian Church is the story of God’s providence and sustenance, of God’s people gathered and dispersed to mission. It truly is a history of us- a history of us in partnership with God. For more of the stories of us- please click here
